Google has made an announcement that could help hundreds of homeless people in San Francisco get back on their feet.

Every single homeless person in the city will be given a life-long phone number and voicemail, should they choose to accept it, NBC11’s Lisa Bernard said.

gay news

[1] Interesting story on Gay USA this morning…

A New York appellate court ruled (unanimously!) that New York must recognize out-of-state marriages, and that spousal benefits must be provided to people in such marriages.
This overturns a lower court decision, and may be appealed.
This has some interesting fallout:

You can’t get married in NY, but NY will recognize out-of-state marriages. In Massachusetts, you can only get married if your home state will recognize your marriage. This means that
now, for the first time, a NY couple can go get married in Massachusetts, then return home to NY where their marriage will be recognized.

[2] On March 4, the CA supreme court will start hearing arguments on the SF-gay-marriage-related case, to determine whether we have a right to marry under the state constitution.
